RESPONSIBILITIES
- Owns field operation deliverables and executes operation work plans to achieve O&M targets.
- Identifies resources needed for field operations and assigns individual responsibilities.
- Ensures operational activities are delivered on a standard and quality basis to achieve Service Level Agreement.
- Manages day-to-day operational activities.
- Manages Operations Standard Day meetings and SLA reviews.
- Reviews deliverables prepared by field teams before sharing them with a client.
- Effectively applies and enforces Operations standards.
- Ensures operational resources are properly maintained in an acceptable
manner. - Minimizes risk exposure on field operation activities.
- Ensures full compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicates regular operational updates to Clients.
- Oversight and mentoring of your team.
- Determine the objectives and measurable targets upon which field operations will be evaluated at their completion.
- Manages Operational costs by forecasting field operation
- requirements; preparing budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective measures.
- Achieves operational objectives by proposing strategic plans through performance reviews and preparing improvement plans.
- Ensure field works are delivered at desired quality to meet customer standards.
- Resolving problems, reviewing trends, determining improvements, and implementing change.
- Conducts audits in all aspects; sites quality; field resources and human
resources
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares operational reports for internal framework and customer needs
- Work with other O&M Managers to ensure that services are delivered collectively.
- Establish appropriate field operations KPIs as the basis of demonstrating quality operations delivery.
- Conduct Performance Evaluations of field teams and Subordinates.
- Responds to other duties assigned by the Line Manager.
- Ensure the workplace conforms to health and safety requirements.
- Responsible to oversee the implementation of safety statements.
- Responsible for ensuring that good case practice on HSE compliance is always followed.
- Responsible to participate in SHERQ meetings, audits as well as random site inspections to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for always ensuring enough resources are allocated to implement HSE policy requirements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises the work of subordinates in the department to ensure they perform their work effectively.
- Establish an interface between the field task force and top management.
- Supervises all field staff concerning operations standards and procedures.
- Working independently or in a team under comprehensive
- organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives.
- Utilization of significant resources from other work units to perform the job's functions.
- Prepares succession plans and mentors subordinates to strengthen the future organizational structure.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related discipline is required.
- Prior experience working in the telecom sector is preferred.
- A recognized Operations Management Qualification.
- At least 5 years of experience preferably in the telecom sector.
- Telecommunication and managed service background.
- Prior experience working in a similar position in the telecom sector is preferred.
- Managing budgets and expenditures.
- Suitable client-facing skills incorporating significant commercial experience.
- Strong financial knowledge along with a highly developed understanding of operations processes and tools.
- Competence in document preparation using MS office, data collection, and MS PowerPoint for presentations and posters
