About the Role:
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Insurance Operations Manager with over 9 years of experience in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise in managing all operational, financial and management functions within the company. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience as a General Manager or Senior Manager within a multinational Insurance company.
Location: Dar es Salaam - Tanzania

Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategic Direction, provide senior leadership to all operational, financial and management functions within the insurance company.
- Operational Management, Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring the effective execution of all processes, including policy issuance, claims processing, underwriting and customer service.
- Financial Oversight, manage the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring the profitability and financial stability of the company.
- Compliance and Risk Management, ensure all company operations comply with relevant insurance laws, regulations, and industry standards, including underwriting, claims processing and risk management practices.
- Team Management and Development, build and lead a high-performing operations team, setting clear performance expectations and providing ongoing coaching and mentoring.
- Stakeholder Management, serve as a key point of contact for senior management, presenting regular operational reports, financial performance reviews and strategic recommendations.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation, lead the efforts to continuously improve operational processes, leveraging technology and automation to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
- Understanding of Insurance Business and Products, possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry, including various insurance products, packages, and the full life cycle of insurance operations
Qualifications and Experience;
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or related field.
- At least 9 years of experience in senior management roles within the insurance industry as General Manager, Senior Operations Manager or similar role.
- Proven experience overseeing large-scale operations, financial management and risk management within an insurance company.
- Extensive knowledge of various insurance products example; medical and understanding of their market dynamics.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and overseeing diverse operational areas such as underwriting, claims, policy administration and customer service.
- Highly strategic and results-driven, with a focus on achieving company goals and driving profitability.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team to achieve operational goals.
- Exceptional financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, forecast, analyze financial reports and drive cost-efficiency initiatives.
