Landscape Sales/Designer

Our client is an established Landscape Design/Build company that services the residential market in St Louis, MO. They are looking to hire a Designer who can sell outdoor living solutions to the residential market. 

 Position Summary

 The Designer position will be responsible for following up on company generated leads with residential clients who are interested to make improvements to their outdoor living space.  

This Sales/Designer will meet with potential clients, define the scope of work, budgets and timelines, will produce designs and close the opportunity with a signed contract. Once the client has signed the agreement to engage the company, this position will transition the project to the fulfillment team and will be responsible for monitoring the progress with project inspections. This position is responsible for selling the construction services which includes landscape, drainage, hardscape, pool decks, fire pits, some outdoor kitchens, pergolas, outdoor lighting and other outdoor living features. Projects range from $5k -$30k on average and some exceed $100k

Responsibilities:

Following up on leads generated by the company to qualify the opportunity

Establish rapport with the client in order to generate a positive relationship

Assist client in defining their goals of the project

Assist client with defining the budget for the project

Propose designs for the client to evaluate in order to come to an agreement on the scope

Create the estimate and contract in order to come to an agreement with the client

Work with internal resources to meet timelines as it relates to the proposal and designs

Transition the project to the Fulfillment team who will be in charge of building the project

Inspect the projects through the construction cycle and handle any large change orders that can materially affect the original scope of the project.

Qualifications:

The following education, skills and experience are required for this role: 

  • 2 or 4 year degree in Landscape Architecture / Design
  • 3+ years of experience in Landscape Design / Sales
  • Friendly personality that is good at building rapport
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite Products, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Handsketch and/or Dynascape
  • Interest or Experience in High End Residential Market
  • Estimating, project communication and coordination
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
  • Innovative and focused on learning and self improvement
  • Strong Attention to Detail Required    

Abbreviated Responsibilities:

  • Guide clients through our design process
  • Produce creative and evocative landscape designs for a wide range of clientele
  • Accurately bid and provide estimates of designs


Compensation:

Competitive annual base salary with a 
sliding scale commission program.
