Job Title: Business Developer, Construction 
Location: St. George, UT (office)

 Chief Revenue Officer

Our Client is a well established commercial landscape company that has been assisting general contractors and developers for decades by providing landscape installation services for commercial projects.  They are currently looking to expand their staff by adding an experienced Business Developer who can bring revenue to the company by targeting the St. George UT market.

As a Business Developer, you will be responsible for identifying, presenting and closing new residential landscape construction and installation contracts. You will need to network to identify new opportunities, develop a pipeline, establish relationships with professional organizations, and promote the company leveraging the experience in the local market to close new project work.  

A qualified candidate should be able to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • High level of integrity and commitment to excellence.
  • Experience in B2B sales including a track record in construction sales experience. 
  • A proven track record in prospecting and closing construction projects.

  • Great organizational skills and ability to manage sales cycles and the database of contacts.

In addition, a Business Developer should be able to meet the following Skills and work experience requirements:

  • Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing, Minimum of 3 years’ business-to-business commercial contract sales experience in the service industry with a proven track record of success. 
  • Landscape Construction Sales or Construction Sales experience is preferred.
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple leads, RFP’s and able to multi-task.
  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).  

The sales goal is $2-4mm in new construction and landscape installation contracts per year with a focus on Residential projects.  

They will need to develop relationships with developers, architects, land planners and others in order to position the company to bid on new opportunities. They will manage the sales cycle, gather information on the projects, coordinate with estimating team, develop proposals, present proposals and close sales opportunities. This is a relationship focused job so developing rapport with clients, showcasing the companies abilities to produce quality work and managing the sales cycle until a successful close will be important. St. George is a tight knit market so ideally someone who is established in that market or someone who can network to crack into the local market is important.

Compensation: $65-75k base plus commissions for hitting sales goal, health insurance, vehicle, PTO, Cell, Laptop and additional perks. The commissions are uncapped and the position should generate $2-4mm in annual projects.

Realistic income including commissions is targeted between $125 - 145k per year for that level of sales and is uncapped.
