We are seeking an accomplished Senior Marketing Communications manager responsible for creating our client’s brand awareness strategy and generating leads that lead to broad adoption and utilization of our client’s technology in North America. This role will also work in strong partnership with sales leadership, operations, global cross-functional partners, and third-party vendors. What you’ll tackle in this role:

  • Market Awareness Strategy: Define customer targets with a broader commercial team. Create a strategy with the right promotional tools, messaging, and cadence to reach prospective customers in a way that tells our story to help fuel market understanding, acceptance, and adoption of the product/solution.
  • Customer Communications: Develop an ongoing customer communication program to encourage better utilization. The plan will factor in different media outlets, including social media, advertising, email, etc. based on tools and cadence defined in our market awareness strategy.
  • Customer Promotion Kit: Work directly with provider customers to leverage their use of further exposure through social media and PR. Build a “Promotion Kit” for new customers that they can use to tout their use of our product to their customers.
  • Content Calendar: Develop and implement a content calendar to continuously feed information to external audiences: customers, investors, potential employees. Content includes articles, emails, videos, white papers, infographics, and others, and is rolled out via the website, social media, ongoing email campaigns, etc. Build this tool into a broader communication plan.
  • Website: Manage North America landing page(s) and make ongoing improvements and updates. Manage any external web vendors. Track leads and website traffic. Explore ways to improve the effectiveness of our website to better drive awareness and ultimately adoption of product/technology.
  • National Customer Facing Events: Coordinate participation in events, event displays, and all promotion and lead generation activities.
  • Regional Customer Facing Events: Work with marketing to design customer-facing event materials. Coordinate customer-facing messaging for regional conferences and events. Work with local sales reps and broader team to align on communication strategy and drive execution.
  • Public Relations: Develop ideas for contributed articles and regular press releases. Assure these activities are factored into a broader market awareness strategy
  • KOL Strategy Support: Integrate KOL strategy with the broader marketing team into our communications plan and showcase customer engagement activities and outputs.

 

Skills and experiences that we seek:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • 5+ years’ work experience in Marcom within Medical Devices (or related)
  • Proven experience in creating a strategic work plan (25%) and executing programs to achieve specific goals (75%)
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading and working on cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication – written and oral, and strong analytical skills
  • Work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment, prioritize assignments and multi-task
  • Technology: creating effective presentations; Microsoft Office; Salesforce; HubSpot; website maintenance and guidance (a strong plus)
  • Ability to travel 20-30% of the time
  • Hands-on experience with project management and budgeting

Preferences:

  • Managing external MarCom firm strongly preferred
  • Respiratory therapeutic area and the acute care hospital setting
  • Experience within a global manufacturing organization, including exposure to R&D/Engineering, Sales/Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Operations/Manufacturing
  • Experience in working with a range of internal stakeholders locally and globally; including sales, marketing, operations, analytics, and more

 

Workplace Situation:

  • Hybrid WFH with in-office 3 days/week in downtown Chicago
