Benefits Billing Coordinator

We are representing a client in the legal industry who is currently seeking a Benefits Billing Coordinator to join their team. As a Benefits Billing Coordinator, you will report to the Director of Benefits and play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of employee and partner benefits bills. You will also be responsible for monitoring contributions from employees, partners, and retirees. In addition, you will provide assistance with Open Enrollment and year-end data integrity audits.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with carrier billing contacts, insurance staff, and accounting staff to ensure the payment of monthly bills.
  • Reconcile and analyze billing statements, assess general ledger impact, and review payroll reports to ensure proper recording of insurance-related financial transactions.
  • Assist with Open Enrollment and year-end data integrity audits.
  • Utilize PeopleSoft HRMS and PeopleSoft Query to generate reports.
  • Prepare memoranda documenting and communicating insurance-related billing issues.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose solutions to various insurance and accounting issues.
  • Handle special projects such as historical enrollment preparation, cost auditing, and business analysis spreadsheet creation.
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking to enhance the firm's industry positioning.
  • Fulfill other general insurance, reporting, and budgeting responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting or other analytical experience.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality customer service.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in generating reports using PeopleSoft.
