Financial Reporting Manager

Position Overview:

The Corporate Financial Reporting Manager position embraces ambition and innovation to serve the organization’s Corporate, Management, Investor Holdings and Complementary Companies. The Manager will be responsible for the financial statements for corporate consolidation and joint venture vehicles. This person will also be responsible for accounting related to real estate transactions and will be key in maintaining and improving the company’s competency for technical accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly corporate consolidated financial statements for internal and external use adhering to established monthly deadlines and related processes/protocol
  • Document procedures for joint venture consolidations
  • Responsible for management reports for specific business units. Works with business unit stakeholders to meet accounting and financial reporting needs
  • Presents management reports to senior stakeholders
  • Implements new accounting policies and ensures those policies are communicated to team as well as the business units
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, and preparing/reviewing financial reports
  • Perform monthly account analysis and roll-forwards of selected general ledger accounts to ensure accounts properly reflect the Company’s financial position in accordance with company policy
  • Review ledger detail, instruct/prepare adjusting journal entries, and supporting schedules for financial statements
  • Research monthly variances from budget and assist team with budget variance explanations
  • Prepare lender reporting packages and debt covenant calculations
  • Respond to audit/investor/lender inquiries pertaining to the monthly/quarterly reporting package
  • Collaborate with property/development accounting team on a regular basis to ensure the team is making the appropriate accounting entries
  • Review and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, and resolve accounting related issues
  • Focus on continuous improvement of processes and procedures
  • Develop and update reconciliations for all investor level contributions and distributions
  • Mentors and develops corporate accounting team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 6+ years of related experience
  • CPA
  • Public accounting and real estate industry experience
  • Advanced Excel to create templates and trackers, and financial modeling skills combined with the ability to communicate the results of the work product
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Comfortable working in an open, team-oriented environment
  • Experience with various accounting technology platforms

Preferred:

  • Experience with Entrata and/or Yardi
  • Experience with SaaS accounting
  • Experience with enterprise valuation and real estate models
