Their tax team continues to expand, and they are seeking a Tax Accountant with a specific focus on international tax compliance and income tax provision. This unique role offers the opportunity to engage in various taxation aspects, including both domestic and international reporting, within the dynamic and rewarding renewable energy industry.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication and manage tasks between the Chicago tax team and foreign country teams, regarding year-end income tax provisions, tax filings, tax audits, and related inquiries.
- Provide support to managers and directors in international tax planning projects.
- Contribute to the maintenance of tax depreciation ledgers and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the organization (e.g., accounting, legal, finance operations, development teams from various countries) to achieve shared objectives and enhance processes.
Required Skills
- 1-3 years of progressive tax experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field; a Master's Degree in Taxation or CPA certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in and motivation for working in the renewable energy industry, both independently and collaboratively.
- A proactive approach to rapidly learning new areas of tax as business and tax laws evolve.
- A positive mindset to identify improvement opportunities and devise solutions to problems.
- Strong attention to detail and adaptability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment; regular follow-up with managers/directors to discuss progress and outcomes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with software and system applications (such as Excel, Oracle, MS Word, OneSource, etc.) and the ability to quickly learn internal tools.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in the energy, power, real estate, or infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
- Familiarity with international tax is a plus.
