Investor Reporting Analyst

We are seeking an Investor Reporting Analyst to join the team of a growing asset management firm here in Chicago! This is an important role within the Fund Accounting Department as it seeks to support the Reporting Team in driving more efficient, standardized and robust reporting capability for the Firm, build a client focused finance team, and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Investor Reporting Team within Fund Accounting to support the production of investor reporting, by reviewing investor statements for accuracy and coordinating within the department to collect critical datapoints for internal and external deliverables minimizing the firm’s regulatory, monetary and reputational risk factors
  • Review transactions to ensure they have been properly processed in the database and reflect correctly on the Partner Capital Statements
  • Create, load, and edit Power Queries that are used to manage heavy volume of datapoints and investor count in the Investor Statement process to ensure accuracy
  • Assist in building and maintaining a database of financial metric and key datapoints used for reporting purposes
  • As part of the Fund Accounting Team, working with Investor Communications and Investor Partners Group Departments is vital to the Investor Reporting Team for implementing efficiencies and accuracy in our reporting on the company’s performance
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and improve upon technology and test application updates to validate that they meet the team’s business needs
  • Optimize the current process and contribute to the system and process improvements needed for the longer-term growth and development to manage a constant 3-5% quarterly growth rate of investor statement count
  • Assist in various ad-hoc projects and requests – both within the Investor Reporting and Project and Process Groups and across the broader Fund Accounting Team and other function areas in meeting regular periodic reporting requirements
  • Work closely with other departments within the Firm in meeting regular periodic investor reporting requirements and responding to various investor requests

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (accounting or finance and systems proficiency preferred)
  • At least 2 years of meaningful, relevant experience in similar business is strongly desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and PowerPoint (Expert level in Excel preferred)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Understanding and analyzing of Financial Statements to report on key metrics of the Funds (leverage calculations, return calculations, IRR and performance metrics)
  • Ability to learn and excel at day-to-day responsibilities and contribute to driving process improvement, standardization, and automation − Proactive self-starter with a positive can-do and ‘no job too small’ attitude
  • High level of intellectual curiosity with a desire to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex business challenges
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while demonstrating strong teamwork
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage time and priorities under pressure and consistently meet deadlines Comfortable working in a fluid environment under the direction of various managers depending on the task at hand − Comfortable with a steep learning curve and seeking assistance from a strong and committed peer group
  • Proficiency in Workday, Adaptive, Wall Street Office , Data Warehouse and similar packages is a plus
  • COVID vaccinations required, subject to applicable local, state and federal law
