Global Tax Director

The Director, Global Tax will assist the Global Controller in overseeing the company’s multinational tax activities as well as build the team, processes, and structure necessary to develop a world class tax function capable of supporting the growth and operationalization of this dynamic consumer products business. Reporting to the Global Controller, the Director, Global Tax will play a key role partnering with the Senior Financial Leadership team, helping to build an efficient tax structure and develop key processes. Additionally, he/she will provide oversight for Direct and Indirect Tax functions ensuring they meet the needs of the organization and are in compliance with all applicable regulations. The Director, Global Tax will assist in developing and maintaining the US GAAP accounting for taxes in addition to compliance with federal, state and local tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

· Experience with internal control over financial reporting (SOX) in order to evaluate/maintain control environment of the newly spun off business
· Lead a team responsible for management of the effective tax rate, tax planning and forecasting, compliance, and support of external audits
· Lead a team responsible for Direct and Indirect Tax and a team of external resources of PwC, Vertex (Sales and Use Tax) and George McElroy& Associates (Property Tax)
· Review and oversight of certain tax services provided under the Transition Services Agreement with the parent company
· Own the global tax basis balance sheet and income tax accounting for the organization
· Proactively manage the effective tax rate utilizing resources to drive efficiencies in the rate
· Drive continued efficiency and simplification across Finance processes and provide critical direction and input to the development and design of new standalone systems
· Support required financial (internal or external) audits and be the lead responsible for management of the external resources supporting direct and indirect tax
· Hire, develop, and retain top-tier finance professionals through thought leadership, timely feedback, as well as appropriate coaching and mentoring
· Promote a team culture of high performance, efficiency and simplification across financial and accounting processes

Qualifications:

· Undergraduate university degree: graduate degree (MST/MA/MBA) preferred, CPA required
· 10+ years of relevant professional experience ina medium to large corporate setting
· Supervisory experience with a medium to large Tax Team including performance management, training, and development. Experience developing or growing a team is preferred
· Experience with CPG or global, matrixed manufacturing organization is a plus
· Hands on, collaborative, proactive, transparent, urgent and able to deal with ambiguity
· Overall demonstration of advisory capabilities, supported by a solid understanding of the business, external labor market, competitive landscape, and data analytics
· Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements including internal controls and reporting skills
· Overall analytical skills and reasoning abilities will characterize the most distinguished candidates
