An exciting opportunity for a Director of Sales to lead and direct a regional food packaging solutions sales team in prospecting and closing sales opportunities. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about developing and implementing strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
The Director of Sales will work closely with customer service and sales administration teams to develop systems, processes, procedures, and goal-oriented business plans aligned with the company's goals to facilitate a customer-focused sales group. They will also develop a hiring and training strategy to ensure long-term customer satisfaction with a well-focused sales group.
The successful candidate will provide daily support to Regional Sales Managers, including application identification, customer development and closing of all business opportunities, and assuring customer satisfaction in the region while ensuring close cooperation with other sales teams. Additionally, they will be expected to work with and provide direction to both internal and external marketing functions.
The Director of Sales will be required to travel in excess of 50% of the time, with the remainder of the time being spent in the office to ensure proper preparation and follow-up. Domestic and international travel is also required. This position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate travel, customer needs, trade shows, meetings, and customer schedules.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, sales & marketing, or related field and five years of food packaging industry-related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and a working knowledge of CRM applications are required. A current valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by the position are also necessary.
