About the Role
The Controller will oversee the firm’s financial operations with both precision and strategic insight. This includes managing daily accounting functions, preparing financial reports, leading budget development, and ensuring accuracy in project cost tracking. As a senior member of the team, you’ll help keep the firm’s financial engine running smoothly—allowing the creative side of the practice to thrive.

Candidates without direct AEC experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all daily financial operations
  • Oversee general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Lead cash management, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) functions
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements
  • Develop, manage, and update the firm’s annual operating budget
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity in project cost tracking and reporting
  • Generate monthly and quarterly KPIs and financial performance analyses
  • Review project contracts and sub consultant agreements for financial consistency and accuracy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar senior finance role
  • Prior experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint (preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability
