About the Role
We’re working with a leading mechanical contractor to hire a strategic, growth-focused Project Executive to lead process piping projects and drive business development in the Phoenix region. This is a senior leadership role for a seasoned professional with deep industry knowledge and a track record of winning and delivering complex mechanical construction work.
As a Project Executive, you’ll lead high-level pursuits, guide a team of Project Managers and Engineers, and expand market share through strategic planning, client development, and hands-on leadership. You’ll also mentor emerging talent and ensure best-in-class project delivery across the region.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and grow a portfolio of process piping projects, from pursuit through closeout
- Serve as executive point of contact for major clients, developing long-term relationships and repeat business
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities and target clients
- Oversee project estimating, sales strategy, contract development, and execution
- Provide leadership and support to Project Managers and Project Engineers
- Ensure financial performance through accurate forecasting, cost control, and risk management
- Coordinate with field teams and internal departments to ensure project excellence
- Recruit, coach, and develop project team talent
- Represent the company in key client meetings, industry events, and community partnerships
What You Bring:
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical construction, ideally focused on process piping, plumbing, or HVAC
- Proven success leading projects over $5M in size (experience with $25M+ preferred)
- Background in estimating, engineering, or project management
- Strong ability to lead client development and strategic growth initiatives
- Experience supervising or mentoring teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Deep knowledge of project cost controls, scheduling, contracts, and risk management
- Strong executive presence, relationship-building skills, and a commitment to ethical leadership
Compensation:
Our client offers a competitive base salary of $130,000 – $215,000, plus performance-based incentives and a full benefits package. Final compensation will reflect experience, qualifications, and market alignment.
