Bulls Eye Recruiting is looking for a Director of Sales Engineer for one of our clients fastest growing business units, Manufacturing. Our client expects the Manufacturing Business Unit to be one of the main growth drivers for company. In this role the Director of Sales Engineering, will be responsible for managing all sales engineering resources within the Americas region of the Manufacturing Business Unit.

Role Responsibilities

  • Review of resource utilization, planning for specialized coverage of all major sales activity areas (Direct, Channel, OEM and Marketing), and review of the resource matching process
  • Providing assistances to the managers in the recruitment and hiring of Sales Engineers to fill staffing requirements
  • Create an organizational culture in the organization that will be a basis for the motivation, development, and retention of all sales engineers
  • Participation in regular territory reviews with sales leaders resulting in a detailed understanding of the top deals in the region
  • Direction of the sales engineers within the region, and development of long-term coverage plans for the region
  • Account management activities may include development of account strategy, high-level presentations, problem resolution, relationship development, and coordination of corporate resource involvement with the top prospects within the region
  • The ability to speak to press and analysts about our Manufacturing’s solutions and strategies technology - from product releases to overall value propositions
  • Additional responsibilities include development of relationships with other internal organizations as well as maintaining current knowledge of both corporate and industry direction in order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:
    • Experience working in a fast-growing environment and understanding of different cultural and working environments
    • Second line Management experience
    • Experience in coordinating large scale recruitment programs
    • Understanding of standard approaches to coaching, mentoring and management of individual contributors and managers
    • Ability to motivate and inspire a growing team of leading Presales Solutions Consultants
    • Experience in Value Based Selling or Solution Selling
    • A thorough understanding of the SaaS Market space
    • A background in selling manufacturing-based solutions is highly desired

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in sales engineering roles. The candidate will have demonstrated experience managing and coaching a team. He/she will be technically grounded but with a very strong commercial mindset. The ideal candidate’s experience will include Manufacturing software experience for a growing commercial software company operating globally.

The final candidate will have many of the following experiences, skills, and personal attributes.

  • Experience in a similar role (Senior Director or Director) at a multi-product software company with domain experience in the manufacturing space.
  • Proven track record designing, shaping, and driving go-to-market strategies in the enterprise software space.
  • Must have skills to coach and assist reporting team in relationship and benefit stream selling to “C” Level prospects, ability to understand business flow and articulate software benefits stream to prove out a return on investment.
  • A track record of directly leading, managing, and mentoring a high-performing team.
  • The ability to develop and create strong culture and loyalty among the employee base.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-organizational collaboration and matrix management
  • Proven ability to perform in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with a strong customer orientation (internal and external).
  • A bright and creative mind with highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, quantitative analytical abilities, and superior communication skills.
  • Possess a sense of urgency with and the ability to communicate it to the team.
  • Must be impeccably honest and ethical. A successful executive who is smart, passionate, energetic, and results focused.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science in Accounting, Business Management, Information Technology, Management Information Systems.
