ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
Affixes shipping labels on packed items.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or uses pre-assembled containers.
Insert items into containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
Nails cover on wooden crates and binds containers with a metal strap, using the strapping machine.
Posts weight and shipping charges and affixes postage.
Routes items to departments.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Assemble and etch product.
Performs final inspection.
Unload and load trucks using forklifts and pallet jacks.
Properly document all shipments according to company policy and procedure in a timely manner
Schedule shipping with online Brokers using shipping computer.
Properly determine and input shipping weight, dimensions, and destination carrier.
Keep the shipping and receiving area clear.
This position works Mon - Fri 7:30-4:00pm.
Other duties may be assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma
Forklift and/or heavy machinery certification and work experience.
At least (1) year of full-time work experience within a Shipping and Receiving department in a warehouse or distribution center.
Company currently using UPS World Ship online. The ideal candidate does not need to have experience with this online tool but something similar is preferred.
Professional work experience illustrating organizational capabilities.
