Fitness and Wellness Administrator

Recognized leading medical practice is extending their outreach platform to include physical fitness and wellness. In addition to being a recognized leader in Medical Products and Support, Patient Care, and Research the organization will be extending their efforts into a Fitness and Well Being facility and comprehensive program of well-being for their patients and the community.

The ideal candidate will develop, implement, and administer effective programs and events, under their pillars of education, health and fitness, and service, with a primary focus on health and fitness initiatives.

The Fitness and Well Being Leader will be primarily responsible for driving high levels of participation in, and commitment to health, wellness and fitness-driven outreach efforts among participants in the program.

The leader will develop and implement strategies to increase visibility by executing key outreach initiatives through personal relationships, social media presence, and other social networking digital platforms.

The leader will spearhead the recruitment, screening, and selection of fitness personnel with continued coaching and monitoring of overall outcomes once hired. The leader will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the implementation of health and fitness programs to ensure best practices including but not limited to:
    • Conduct relevant market research to create, implement and/or expand existing health and fitness programs, and initiatives.
    • Create fitness and wellbeing curriculum focused on areas such as strength & conditioning, Tai chi, Yoga, and other fitness and wellbeing related courses.
    • Lead participant recruitment, supervise, schedule, and communicate regularly with fitness personnel to execute programs., monitor overall outcomes for participants.
  • Prior professional business acumen including creating and following a budget, managing expenses, and oversee capital expenses related to facility and program operation.
  • Support medical organization’s community fundraising ideas through implementation with fitness participants.
  • Plan and execute special events, including set-up, coordination of vendors, equipment rentals, vender relations, and communication.
  • Serve as the primary liaison on aligned community efforts and partnerships.
  • Technical Acumen including being a basic or intermediate user of technology such as MS Office Products, and technical resources related to the fitness and health related industries.
  • Actively teach a minimum of 10% of group fitness classes.
  • Responsible for various administrative duties including, but not limited to, data entry, evaluation tracking, post-initiative/program recaps inclusive of tracked metrics, and weekly debriefs.

 Other duties as assigned.

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management, Non-Profit Management, or other closely related field; Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.

Silver Sneakers certification is preferred, if not currently certified must possess a willingness to complete certification.

Nationally Accredited Group Fitness Certification would also be preferred such as: AFAA, ACE or NASM

Maintain a valid CPR/AED Certification.

Knowledge of issues and best practices related to fitness-based development programming, strength & conditioning techniques, wellness & mindfulness, and community development.

Prior professional work experience in the development and execution of digital marketing including social media and web presence.

Prior event planning experience including setup, vendor relations, equipment rentals, marketing, and communications.

Ability to work with minimum supervision, demonstrating a high degree of initiative, and ability to produce high quality work under tight deadlines.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to multitask; Strong teamwork and cross-group collaboration; Strong relationship management skills; Strong communication skills and business etiquette; ability to effectively interact with internal and external contacts; Comfortable with public speaking at engagements and during events.

Able to work nights, weekends, as needed.
