Our client, an international leader in cannabis ancillary products, is seeking an experienced Public Relations Manager to oversee their US operations.

They are looking to build a world class team of people who are inspired by their vision and looking to take a leadership role with them as they expand their footprint.

The Public Relations Manager will be responsible for managing communication, both internal and external, and relationships with key, external partners for the company. They will lias with the US and global operation to develop strategies to coordinate media, targets, events, and media outreach related to their product and services.

The manager must have agency, strategic and creative communication acumen to ensure the PR campaigns deliver measurable results. brand awareness, publish press releases, and build a crisis management process. They will be the “Face of the Company”, developing and executing strategic and tactical plans to generate positive company recognition coverage across the US.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and develop public relations strategies.
• Build relationships with influential consumer and lifestyle companies.
• Keep current on all state and local laws and regulations regarding the Cannabis Industry.
• Collaborate with global offices and business units.
• Coordinate with Compliance Manager to ensure company remains compliant in all areas of the business.
• Monitor compliance systems to ensure their effectiveness.
• Create and maintain compliance checklists for all business units
• Monitor state and local laws pertaining to operations and ensure media and marketing compliance with such laws and update compliance documentation and processes as legislation and regulations change.
• Provide support/management of outside agencies.
• Work with functional leaders to ensure information is communicated and all stakeholders are properly informed of changes to regulations, policies, and procedures in their respective areas
• Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a weekly basis
• Respond to media requests and take interviews as needed.

Skills and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
• In Depth Knowledge of Tobacco/Cannabis laws and regulations
• Must be comfortable with Public Speaking and being the “face of the company”.
• 3-5 years working experience in either PR agencies or in-house PR role.
• Experience in a regulated industry such as healthcare, cannabis, biotech, tobacco, or pharmaceuticals
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
• Effective time-management skills and the ability to multitask

Compensation: $150K - $190K Plus Benefits
