POSITION: Commercial Auto Liability Claims Supervisor 

FULLTIME

LOCATION: Fully Remote

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under minimal supervision manages and directs activity of claims unit ensuring high-quality results and management of claims in compliance with state laws and company procedures.

This position requires considerable interaction with client, management, Claims Examiners, and other staff in the office and within the organization

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Directly supervises examiners and clerical staff. Includes monitoring attendance, job performance, evaluations and disciplinary issues.
  • Reviews and addresses scheduled claims issues, such as initial and periodic reviews, delays, denials, etc.
  • Reviews and approves system reserve changes with client approval, awards and approves voucher payments within Company and client guidelines up to reserve authority of $250,000.00 and payment authority (voucher) of $10,000
  • Performs file reviews to monitor compliance with policies and laws within multi-jurisdictional areas .* This is completed on a file by file basis, monthly reviews as required by client and other file reviews as requested by manager and consistent with quality assurance guidelines. Coordinates and leads training sessions for staff on updated laws, policies and procedures.*
  • Ensures daily caseload staffing requirements are met.*
  • Supervises and approves priority payments (vouchers);
  • Maintains in-house and outside training schedule for casualty adjuster team development and state compliance
  • Responsible for monitoring of responses provided to claimant inquiries regarding claim status
  • Responds to claimant and vendor concerns and issues as needed.*
  • Monitors effectiveness of vendors and modifies panels as needed with manager and client approval.*
  • Ensures client servicing instructions are being adhered to.*
  • Provides coverage for examiner vacancies due to vacation or other vacancies.*
  • Prepares and evaluates monthly and quarterly client reports.*
  • Facilitates internal and external audits.*
  • Conducts and documents in-house and outside educational sessions.
  • Attends client file reviews telephonically and in person.
  • Partners with corporate office and sales/service team for resolution of client service issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred); three (3) to five (5) years related Commercial Auto and Property Damage claims experience;

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical knowledge of statutory regulations and medical terminology.
  • Commercial Claims experience in multiple jurisdictions and associated venue specific case valuations
  • Closely monitor examiner files to ensure proper assessment of claim loss exposure and evaluate same for accurate reserve and settlement recommendations to be provided to client.
  • Ability to work on a diary system, prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey technical details to claimants, clients and staff.
  • Ability to manage employees of various skill levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

    Other Qualifications:

  • Georgia home state licensed with additional licensure in multiple jurisdictions or the ability to promptly obtain licensure through reciprocity and/or state specific examinations.
  • Certifications including those provided by AICPCU and other organizations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs
  • Use of computers and technology
