Affinity is a fully vertically integrated Massachusetts Medical Marijuana company that recently started up cultivation and expects to open retail soon. We are looking for a Cannabis Extraction Technician to operate our state-of-the-art extraction and distillation / refinement equipment, preparing clean THC and CBD plant extractions for concentrates and infused products.

Position Overview:

Responsible for carrying-out daily production of high-purity cannabis oil and distillate. Candidate is to possess a high degree of organization while contributing to a company culture based on quality, continuous improvement, and camaraderie.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist senior team members in processing cannabis biomass by way of supercritical fluid extraction (SFE)
  • Refine crude cannabis oil to produce high purity active desired ingredients for consumables
  • Maintain production logbooks pertaining to extraction and refinement
  • Maintain daily logbooks pertaining to equipment maintenance, laboratory balances and laboratory environment.
  • Digitally upload production logs to excel
  • Carry out sampling protocols for extraction, kitchen and cultivation
  • Prepare samples to be sent to internal quality control
  • Ensure laboratories are clean and in order
  • Carry-out inventory audits of laboratory supplies and reagents
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures to drive product quality and yield
  • Contribute to a dynamic, collaborative, and positive team environment and culture
  • Other tasks as needed, or as per changes to the above list

Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably working under ISO-accredited guidelines.
  • General understanding of cannabis chemistry preferred
  • Coursework and/or degree in chemistry, physics, engineering or biology preferred but not required
  • Strong documentation and organization skills
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and employee scheduling software
  • Must be able to be on your feet during your shift and continuously lift 50 lbs
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check (CORI)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
