Senior Corporate Accountant - Tier-1, publicly traded company in Irvine

A tier-1, S&P 500 company is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to play a key role on their Corporate Accounting team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the joint venture accounting along with financial reporting disclosures. This is an excellent role for a Senior Associate out of Big 4 or a regional firm, or a Senior Accountant out of a large company with a public accounting foundation looking to elevate their career with one of the largest publicly traded companies in Orange County.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform accounting functions related to joint ventures including monthly and quarterly joint venture distributions, contributions and income allocations
• Prepare monthly equity method investment reconciliations
• Work closely with acquisitions team to prepare journal entries related to acquisitions and dispositions
• Assist in the preparation of shareholders’ equity, including stock-based compensation
• Team with corporate accounting to prepare consolidating journal entries on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Prepare and review various 10Q/K disclosures and other quarterly reporting schedules
• Prepare and review joint venture financial statements for quarterly and annual reporting requirements 
• Play key role in preparation of the consolidated statement of cash flows, along supporting schedules

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 2+ years of Big 4 or Regional public accounting experience required
• CPA or tracking towards CPA is required
• Ability to understand complex corporate structures and consolidations
• Expert knowledge utilizing Excel
• Excellent communication skills and a team player
