Summary
As the Assistant Controller, you will play a critical role in the financial operations of the organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Your expertise in accounting and business acumen will be essential in helping the company make informed financial decisions and maintain accurate financial records.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts. Monitor financial performance against budgeted targets, identifying and explaining variances to senior management.
- Cost Accounting: Oversee cost allocation and inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to provide insights into the company's financial performance, profitability, and cost efficiency. Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Month-end and Year-end Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Internal Controls: Develop and implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit, providing necessary documentation and explanations to support the audit process.
- Compliance and Taxation: Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and taxation laws, ensuring the company's compliance and accurate reporting of financial data.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate accounting processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Propose and implement process enhancements to streamline operations and enhance financial reporting accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Accounting or Finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in accounting and financial management, in the manufacturing industry is required.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
