POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for inbound/outbound customer service and collection related contact.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan course of action to recover outstanding debt.

Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans.

  • Handle questions or complaints
  • Update account status and database regularly

REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • You MUST be able to pass a CREDIT CHECK - the following items will make you ineligible: Written off debt, severely past due debt, financial judgement against you through the court and bankruptcy.
    • Customer Service experience preferred
    • Customer service – collections agents are customer-facing representatives of hospital business office clients.
    • Negotiation – working with customers to resolve their debts, whether through a payment plan or a lump-sum settlement amount, is a vital part of the self-pay collector’s role.
    • Persuasion – in addition to negotiation skills, collector should be persuasive in explaining why it is in a customer’s best interest to resolve outstanding balances.
    • Basic computer skills
    • Professional phone voice
