Job Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment. They perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The technician works closely with the maintenance team, production staff, and management to identify and address equipment issues promptly, following safety guidelines and adhering to industry standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections of industrial machinery and equipment to identify potential issues or malfunctions.
- Conduct troubleshooting activities to diagnose equipment problems and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Carry out repairs, adjustments, or replacements of defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and calibration to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Collaborate with production personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repair logs, parts inventory, and equipment performance data.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, equipment manuals, and technical specifications to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Collaborate with vendors and external contractors for specialized repairs or equipment servicing as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Solid understanding of industrial machinery and equipment, such as motors, conveyors, pumps, compressors, and production lines.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities to maintain accurate records and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and adherence to regulatory guidelines in an industrial setting.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, vendors, and contractors.
