Catalyst Recruiting is assisting several companies in their search for entry (or junior) level geologists in Arizona and New Mexico.  There are multiple copper mines, mining companies, mineral exploration companies and contractors in the area serving the mining industry. 

This is a general description. There are some changes for each (there are currently 4) position

Internships or special field camp/field mapping work matters! Put it in your resume. I'll let you know if it fits poorly. I know the subject matter - I used to be a geologist. 

Salary: I do not know yet. I will know shortly (it is 2/25/2022). I will edit this and I will tell you a range.

Description

Under supervision of a Senior Geologist, complete logging of drill samples, geologic mapping, sampling and assist in the completion of resource block models.

• Perform logging of core and reverse circulation drill cuttings.
• Perform geologic mapping of surface and underground areas.
• Assist Senior Geologist with the interpretation of all geological data (e.g., rock type, alteration and structure), assay, and mineralogical data into internally consistent cross sections and level plans.
• Work with a team of Geologists in the completion of computerized resource block models that meet corporate modeling standards.
• Prepare and update drill hole database, maps of deposits and other exploration records.
• Perform rock chip sampling or soil surveys.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or closely related field with no experience necessary. 
• Either already with a degree or will graduate in May/June
