Senior Process Engineer

 

A large inorganic/materials manufacturing company needs a senior engineer for their Vermont site. Position near Springfield, VT.

 

This is a multi-faceted position for someone used to variety, not an expert in one area. This is a smaller 40-person plant that is sold-out and expanding. This is an in-plant, not design type position.

 

Position:

• The senior process engineer on site
• This is an inorganic materials processing type operation, so a lot of materials transport, handling, processing w/some reactions, HSE systems, etc
• Define and lead site continuous improvement projects and programs
• Lead projects with junior engineers, technicians, ops, etc.
• Very significant work in process automation (there is backup)
• For processes:
  • Design
  • Test
  • Optimize
  • Troubleshoot
• Operational and Capital Projects management:
  • Budget and technical management (will have backup for budget work)
  • Subcontractor management
  • Scope definition
• Work in-lab and onsite pilot to develop and test improvements; then scale-up
• Integration of safety systems into all aspects of processes
• Extensive work with ops, maintenance, etc

 

Required/preferred

• Engineering degree - mechanical, electrical, chemical, other?)
• Some project management experience
• Must have significant experience with modern process automation: HMI, PLC, VFD, etc
• Allen Bradley/Rockwell experience desired but not required
• Dry materials handling, sizing, general inorganic chemical manufacturing
• At least 5+ years post-graduation experience
