Senior Electrical Engineer (circuits/design)

Near Knoxville, TN

 

Cutting-edge manufacturer of precision signal processing equipment needs an electrical engineer to lead design and development of circuits used in signal processing from sensors.

 

This is an electrical engineering signal processing/design position; not automation or power.

 

Key experience:

1. Designing, working with, programing, FPGA-based signal processing circuitry
2. Analog-digital signal processing and amplification
3. Circuit modeling and design

 

Specifics:

(As much as possible! Must have the three items, above).

1. All from conceptualize, design, model/simulate, implement board-level and FPGA-based signal processing circuitry (that is all of it in one sentence!)
2. Circuitry needs to effect low-noise/high accuracy analog-digital signal conversion and amplification
3. Design circuitry within PCB framwork
4. Work with colleagues in R&D, applications, embedded systems, manufacturing, etc, toward goals
5. Work with customer service to assist with technical issues
6. All work is low-volume/high-precision
7. Ensure weak analog signals from sensors are processed to low noise amplified digital signals. Easy!! (well, that’s the challenge!)

 

Required/preferred:

(in order of importance):

1. Electrical Engineering degree. Or – a lot of experience that makes it so you can do the above. Convince me!
2. 10+ years of relevant experience
3. FPGA experience – board level design, programming, implementation.
4. Analog to digital signal conversion and amplification
5. Circuit simulation and modeling required: Modelsim is ideal, but others ok
6. PCB design/optimization in the context of a small and specialized product
7. Citizenship/Visa: Must not need a visa or sponsorship at hiring or thereafter to work legally in the U.S. An exception for TN, E-3 or (perhaps?) asylum w/EAD (?)

 

Salary is $125,000 and up plus bonus  based on experience, relocation assistance available.
