Senior Electrical Engineer

Near Knoxville, TN

 

 

A large manufacturer is looking for a senior electrical engineer to lead design and development of multiple lines of precision measurement and sensor-based instrumentation.

 

Position is focused on design, development and improvement of many types of circuits for precision sensor-based instrumentation including signal processing and amplification, PCB, IC and FPGA, analog/digital and multiple interfaces. Will manage projects and people.

 

• All from conceptualize through design, implementation/manufacturing (at least prototyping) and validation of a large array of sensor-based products
• Work with all types and areas of cutting-edge signal amplification systems
• Integration of software and products; coordinate with a software-side colleague that does the mirror image of this position
• Technical assistance for manufacturing-side engineers as well as for service engineers working with legacy products and products at customer sites.
• Work with technical marketing managers to address proposed future products; help make sure the company is not trying to manufacture or promise the impossible!

 

Experience, Qualifications

(As many of these as possible!)

 

• Must have experience with as much as possible: digital and digital/analog signal processing circuit design, optimization, manufacturing and/or service.
• Understand and hopefully work with as many areas of circuit design as possible: impedance, phase locked loops, power supplies, filters, etc
• Digital circuit design – microprocessors, FPGA, etc.
• Software for design and working with such things (SPICE, Verilog, etc)
• Software/hardware integration
• Spectroscopy instrumentation sensors (optical, radiation, etc)

 

Education and other

• At least BS, advanced degree better, in electrical engineering
• At least 10 years of applicable experience
• Able to write reports, communicate with other humans, etc
• Decent personality! Nice person!
• Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship/visa except for TN or E-3 (Australians) visas.

Salary is competitive based on experience. Will be significantly over $100,000
