THE OPPORTUNITY

Founded in 2013 by Co-Presidents Marsha Koelmel and Siobhan Smith, Catapult Executive Consulting provides our clients with customized solutions to better align strategy, leadership and culture, focused on delivering high-impact, transformational change and results. Our services currently include Leadership & Organizational Development, Compensation Consulting, Executive Coaching, Culture Alignment, Strategic Planning and Retained Executive Search. Our Compensation Consulting Practice is led by Julia Culkin-Jacobia, a highly respected HR professional, who brings outstanding experience and expertise to Catapult and the role from her twenty-five years in the compensation consulting business as well as the private sector.

To support Julia and the practice, we are seeking a Compensation Consultant with a combination of energy, drive and commitment who will enable us to not only meet our clients’ needs but also contribute to the growth and expansion of the business. In addition to relevant compensation services experience, we are looking for an individual with a passion for client service, strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and a zest for learning.

WHAT IT TAKES: COMPENSATION CONSULTANT ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Our approach to client engagements is focused on building strong relationships and true partnerships. The more we understand our client’s vision, strategy, talent and culture, the better we can design and deliver the right combination of solutions for the most straight-forward to the most complex engagements. In order to contribute at this level, the Compensation Consultant will need to be a personable, client focused professional and be responsible for:

  • Working with the Compensation Practice Leader to create trusting, collaborative relationships with clients by managing needs, expectations, and the environment, as well as asking for feedback when appropriate.
  • Participating in needs assessment and client discovery calls to gain an understanding of client needs.
  • Leading job matching sessions with clients to ensure appropriate content matches are chosen at the appropriate levels.
  • Pulling relevant market data and combining with client data to analyze results.
  • Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis of data to generate reports, insights, benchmarks to help client to achieve their strategic objectives with their compensation programs.
  • Performing complex analytical tasks related to competitive compensation reviews and creation of pay structures.
  • Assisting with creating client proposals, drafting presentations, and summarizing data analysis into client-friendly presentations.
  • Acting as day-to-day contact for clients in areas of data sharing and ad-hoc requests.
  • Manage workstreams of client projects and accountable for delivery of high-quality work on time and on budget.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    General Education, Experience & Other Qualities

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related degree, including significant coursework in finance, economics, statistics, human resources or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 2-5 years of relevant working experience in Human Resources, with experience in compensation, benefits or HRIS analytics.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen, and solid analytical and statistical skills, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (or other presentation tools).
