THE OPPORTUNITY

Aviano Ventures, LLC is the private investment company and Family Office of the Janca Family based in Naples, Florida. David W. Janca is the founder and builder of multiple information technology businesses, most recently ValueCentric (now a part of IQVIA: NYSE–IQV. ValueCentric provides an industry leading platform and data services for end-to-end visibility into the pharmaceutical channel, from the manufacturer to the patient, helping companies maximize the value of their products and patient access).

Aviano’s current businesses include direct private capital investments for established and startup companies, commercial real estate investments and charter aviation. Aviano’s private capital investments are targeted in healthcare IT, tech-enabled and information driven pharma, digital marketing, data analytics and AI/ML technologies.

We are currently seeking a Controller to join our team to manage the day-to- day accounting/financial oversight and reporting for this newly established family office management company. The ideal candidate will be a team player with an entrepreneurial spirit, and a results-oriented mindset.  

This position offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid work setting. The frequency and structure of in-office vs. remote work will be dependent on the candidate, their home-base and the needs of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the day-to-day accounting / financial oversight and reporting for a newly established family office management company.

GENERAL

  • Work with CEO, and Chief Investment Officer to manage the businesses and assess new opportunities for growth across each segment of the portfolio.
  • Tax management for Family Office management company assets.
  • Work with outside accounting firm to coordinate tax payments, tax strategy, etc.
  • Establish and manage the accounting systems and processes needed for existing and new business startups
  • Manage an existing accounting manager that handles billing, collections, general ledger, and reporting
  • Work with CEO and CIO to assess the performance of and make recommendations for assets invested through third party managers in the financial markets

DIRECT INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO

  • Accounting and tax management of investment positions in portfolio companies
  • Existing early-stage companies, and startups: 4 currently in portfolio, 2 on-deck, 2 startups under consideration

REAL ESTATE

  • Accounting review, reporting, tax management for existing commercial real estate investments
  • Financial Assessment of new commercial real estate opportunities (profitability and financing)

AIR CHARTER SERVICE

  • Accounting, reporting, tax management for a Private Airplane Charter Service

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Targeted financial background - banking; accounting/finance; principal investing; strong analytical skills
  • Internal financial reporting and tracking
  • Tax management experience working with third-party accounting firms and tax/government reporting requirements
  • Hands-on exposure to management consulting functions or direct operating experience would be helpful – able to step in and work at the company level to build process when necessary
  • Knowledge of target verticals helpful; healthcare, healthcare IT, IT, SaaS
  • Experience with early-stage growth company management (onboarding, benefits management) is helpful
  • Start up, early revenue or high growth experience is a plus.
  • 7 to 10 years’ financial management experience in an accounting/financial firm or family office managing multiple entities.
  • Mid-level professional looking to for a larger role / become part of a growth team.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

David Janca founded ValueCentric in 2002 and quickly built the company into the leader in Channel data management, analytics, and reporting solutions. The company’s ValueTrak platform is used by pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and other participants in the pharmaceutical supply channel. Dave’s vision for data access, channel monitoring, and real-time reporting pioneered channel data analytics in the industry. As the first SaaS platform in pharma, ValueTrak evolved to include data and services to support specialty pharmacy and medical products.

In 1995, Dave co-founded Supply Chain Solutions, a technology company focused on replenishment optimization for manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. The SCORE product, developed under Dave’s leadership, remains the standard for replenishment activities in the pharmaceutical distribution industry. NonStop Solutions, (now Manhattan Associates, NASDAQ: MANH) acquired Supply Chain Solutions in 2000.

Dave began his career in the healthcare industry spending ten years with Cardinal Health as Vice President of Purchasing. Dave is viewed as an expert in the healthcare distribution supply channel. He holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and an MBA in Marketing. Dave resides in Naples, FL and is heavily involved in his community and with not-for-profit charitable organizations.
