Description of Duties – Lumber Handler
Lumber handlers typically work in our Kiln Dried or Green Production Departments as a lumber handler. Regular duties require them to:
Regularly lift/handle lumber up to 50 lbs (includes reaching)
Occasionally lift/handle lumber up to 75 lbs (includes reaching)
Regularly “buddy” push equipment/lumber up to 300 lbs
Regularly stand for periods of longer than 6 hours on concrete floor (KD Production)
Regularly stand for periods of longer than 6 hours on raised, metal platform higher than 6 feet
Occasionally push and pull boards of lumber through/from equipment
Occasionally walk for periods of longer than 2 hours
Occasionally operates a table saw
There are two 10 minute breaks during the day and a ½ hour lunch
Shift begins at 7:00 am and ends at 3:30 pm. Some overtime is required.
Steel Toe Boots or Shoes (required)
Leather or Coated Palm Gloves (will be provided)
Safety Glasses (will be provided)
Ear Plugs (will be provided)
