Staff Accountant

The Role We Want You For:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing financial material for Clayco’s real estate group, CRG. The Staff Accountant must be accustomed to meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced company.

The Specifics of the Role:

  • Actively and independently maintain books and records of approximately 35 entities, consisting of processing all transactions (cash receipts, disbursements, journal entries) and ensure timely completion of reports and filings due internally and externally
  • Communicate with unaffiliated co-developers to obtain timely and accurate financial information
  • Ensure balancing of intercompany accounts
  • Manage cash balances for all assigned entities including timely processing of accounts payable and wire transfers
  • Maintain cash projection and flow summary for the entity functioning as the funding source of various special purpose entities (the “Funding Source”)
  • Assist with the maintenance and compilation of a database of information for all active projects, consisting of components of net realizable value, effective/percentage interests, current and historical debt details, guaranty terms
  • Read, interpret, apply terms of governing documents (operating agreements, loans, guaranties, leases, etc)
  • Prepare monthly borrowing base certificate due lender of Funding Source
  • Administer tax preparation process utilizing multiple external accounting firms
  • Administer external audit of transportation development district
  • Participate in the accounting and funding activities of active vertical projects, as necessary
  • Assist with creation and distribution of 1099's
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Divisional reporting



  • BS in Accounting
  • 3+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience preferred
  • Highly organized and focused
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
