Part-Time Marketing Specialist & Webmaster (Consultant)
Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Marketing Specialist & Webmaster (Consultant) for our client to support the execution of strategic marketing initiatives, business development growth, and website operations. This role plays a critical function in strengthening brand visibility, supporting federal proposal efforts through high-impact visual storytelling, and maintaining a high-performing digital presence.
The Consultant will contribute directly to competitive positioning within the federal GovCon marketplace by enhancing marketing content, proposal graphics, and digital communications that reinforce the company's mission and technical leadership.
This is a remote consulting role not to exceed 90 hours per month, allocated as follows:
- 60 hours/month – Marketing & Communications
- 30 hours/month – Website Management
All tasks will be assigned and tracked through Asana. The Consultant reports to the Marketing & Communications Business Unit Lead and collaborates with Business Development, Operations, and Technical teams.
Objectives
The Consultant will support Marketing & Communications Business Unit in achieving defined marketing initiatives and growth objectives by:
- Developing high-quality, brand-aligned content and campaigns
- Supporting proposal development through compelling and compliant graphics
- Optimizing website performance, SEO, and digital engagement
- Ensuring marketing processes align with ISO-certified Integrated Management System (IMS)
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing Material Development
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns aligned with strategic growth priorities and targeted BD opportunities
- Create event-specific materials supporting key conferences (AWS Summit, AMS, AGU, Procurement Days, etc.)
- Develop and refine corporate messaging aligned with evolving strategic positioning
- Produce brochures, presentations, newsletters, press releases, and digital collateral
- Support AWS Partnership marketing initiatives via AWS Marketing Central
- Maintain and evolve the Branding Style Guide and associated SOPs
2. Proposal & Business Development Graphics Support
- Develop visually compelling graphics supporting federal government proposals and capture efforts
- Create organizational charts, staffing matrices, lifecycle/process flows, transition plans, technical architecture diagrams, and performance dashboards
- Translate complex technical, operational, and management concepts into space-efficient visual storytelling for page-limited submissions
- Ensure compliance with solicitation formatting requirements
- Collaborate closely with Capture Managers, Proposal Managers, and Technical Leads to strengthen win themes and evaluator clarity
- Maintain reusable proposal graphic templates to improve efficiency and brand consistency
Strategic Impact:
This role directly supports revenue growth by elevating proposal quality and strengthening evaluator confidence through visual clarity and structured storytelling.
3. Graphics & Brand Governance
- Design graphics for marketing materials, proposals, presentations, and digital platforms
- Maintain brand consistency across all internal and external materials
- Manage Canva accounts, MARCOMM SharePoint, and digital asset libraries
- Update branding templates as corporate messaging evolves
4. Social Media & Digital Engagement
- Develop and schedule social media content aligned with strategic campaigns
- Create engaging graphics and written content
- Monitor engagement and analytics
- Provide monthly performance reports and optimization recommendations
5. Quality Management & Process Support
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Lead and Quality Manager
- Support updates to marketing and communications processes within the IMS
- Ensure documentation aligns with ISO 9001, ISO 20000-1, and ISO 27001 requirements
6. Website Content Management
- Maintain and update service pages, case studies, articles, and employee spotlights
- Coordinate with SMEs for accurate and engaging content
- Ensure alignment with brand voice and strategic goals
7. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Conduct keyword research and optimize content
- Improve organic rankings and search visibility
- Monitor and adjust SEO strategies based on performance data
8. Website Design & UX
- Maintain intuitive navigation and responsive design
- Improve load speed, accessibility, and usability
- Identify and resolve user experience issues
9. Technical Website Maintenance
- Monitor uptime and performance
- Address bugs, broken links, and functionality issues
- Support security updates and compliance requirements
10. Analytics & Reporting
- Maintain Google Analytics and Search Console
- Provide monthly reporting on traffic, engagement, and conversions
- Deliver actionable performance insights
11. Compliance & Accessibility
- Ensure ADA accessibility compliance
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews
- Maintain alignment with cybersecurity and privacy best practices
12. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Research emerging marketing and web technologies
- Recommend tools that improve engagement, automation, and performance
- Identify scalable solutions for long-term growth
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Marketing & Digital Performance
- 95% of assigned tasks completed on or before deadline
- Monthly website analytics report delivered by agreed date
- Measurable improvement in SEO rankings for targeted keywords
- Increased engagement metrics (traffic, time on site, social engagement)
Proposal Graphics Performance
- 100% on-time delivery of proposal graphics per capture schedule
- Draft proposal graphics turnaround within 2–3 business days (unless otherwise agreed)
- Zero compliance formatting rejections attributable to graphic design
- Positive qualitative feedback from Capture Managers and Proposal Leads
- Contribution to improved proposal presentation scores or competitive differentiation
Process & Reliability
- Asana task status updated in real time
- Communication response within one business day
- Weekly status summary provided
Required Qualifications
- Experience in marketing, communications, digital content, or web management
- Demonstrated experience supporting federal government proposal efforts (GovCon)
- Ability to develop organizational charts, lifecycle/process diagrams, and technical solution graphics
- Strong visual storytelling skills in page-limited environments
- Proficiency with design tools (Canva, Adobe, PowerPoint advanced graphics)
- Experience with CMS platforms and SEO best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines independently and reliably
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal IT services contractors
- Familiarity with Shipley-based proposal processes
- Experience working in ISO-certified environments
- Knowledge of AWS Partner marketing programs
Work Structure
