Select Source Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Incident Responder to support incident response operations at the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA). This role plays a vital function in maintaining cyber readiness, ensuring system resilience, and aligning with the Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and conduct annual reviews of the organization’s Incident Response Plan (IRP), including policies and procedures.
Implement incident response strategies aligned with government-approved standards and guidance.
Coordinate and lead responses to cybersecurity incidents in accordance with the Government-approved Incident Response Plan.
Document incidents, track resolution actions, and perform root cause analysis.
Maintain situational awareness of evolving threats and update response protocols accordingly.
Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel, including ISSOs, ISSMs, and SCAs, to ensure continuity in RMF compliance.
Support continuous improvement efforts in cyber defense posture through lessons learned and post-incident reviews.
Required Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, incident response, or related IT security fields.
Must meet the personnel qualifications as defined in DoD Manual 8140.03.
Must possess and maintain at least one of the following certifications:
Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate (CBROPS)
Federal IT Security Professional – Operator (FITSP-O)
GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF)
Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
CompTIA Cloud+
GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED)
CompTIA PenTest+
CompTIA Security+
GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
Security Clearance:
Must possess a minimum Tier 3 background investigation for logical or physical system access.
Salary: $69,700–$88,400. This is a proposal position on a government contract.
