Nuclear Scientist - Electromagnetics and Ionizing Radiation

Our client, a leading organization, is currently seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Scientist for a full-time position based at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. As a Nuclear Scientist, you will be responsible for technical expertise in the areas of electromagnetics and ionizing radiation. This role may involve up to 25% travel throughout the year, including weekends and both domestic and international destinations. You will play a vital role in designing and conducting laboratory and range tests, analyzing and processing data, and collaborating with industry, customers, and stakeholders.

Please note that all positions with our client require U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and process data acquired from testing and customer interactions
  • Create custom visualizations using SolidWorks for test setups to fulfill unique customer requirements
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and briefings summarizing analysis and measurement techniques, and present findings to colleagues, supervisors, and technical peers
  • Evaluate electromagnetic properties of materials
  • Engage with government customers and industry partners within the Air Force community
  • Set up and execute in-lab and on-range tests

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess a minimum of a Secret clearance (ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance)
  • Bachelor's degree in physics or engineering with 2-4 years of experience, or an MS degree in Physics or Engineering with 1-2 years of experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, COMSOL, and Matlab
  • Strong background in electromagnetics
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Practical experience in a laboratory setting, either in an academic or professional environment
  • Understanding of fundamental radiation propagation
  • Experience working with ionizing radiation
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the year, including weekends and both domestic and international locations (valid US Passport or ability to obtain one)
