About Your Role (Job Number: 1216)

We're looking for an exceptional Senior Hardware Security Research Engineer who will redefine the embedded hardware security landscape. From commercial electronic systems to defense applications, your role will be pivotal in understanding and mitigating the impact of evolved cyber-physical attacks.

As an authority in hardware security research, your main responsibility will be to create and implement innovative attack techniques on embedded hardware systems. We value a hands-on approach, so expect to get your hands dirty by prototyping hardware and software test setups to model new attack techniques. Dive deep into complex device architectures and system-level documentation to understand their ins and outs.

What Will You Do?

  • Be a knowledge leader and tackle current and emerging threats to embedded hardware, including microcontrollers, FPGAs, and ASICs.
  • Craft and conduct experiments to measure attack effectiveness against microelectronic devices.
  • Disseminate your findings in technical reports, and present them to technology stakeholders.
  • Join technical conferences, develop and present papers to push forward our knowledge in this technical area.

Who Are You?

  • A U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret clearance.
  • An expert with a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Applied Mathematics.
  • Armed with experience in electromagnetic / side-channel analysis and embedded hardware technology countermeasures.
  • Fluent in Python or Matlab and with a deep understanding of NIST-recommended cryptographic algorithms.
  • A fantastic communicator, proficient at planning research and executing research plans successfully.
