Technical Writer

Clear Point - Norwood, MA

Our client, a rapidly growing manufacturer of computer-based data acquisition and control products, has an immediate opening for a Technical Writer. Work can be hybrid with office in Norwood, MA or remote.

The provides a compact, rugged platform, ideal for engineers working in military, aerospace oil & gas, energy, automotive, laboratory, loT, marine, autonomous vehicle industries and more

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Business Development, the Technical Writer works with Marketing and Engineering to create documentation for customers’ use for installing, configuring, and programming our products. Also responsible for writing and/or editing application notes and white papers. The ideal candidate should be comfortable communicating with VP-level staff, as they will report to the strategic marketing director and work closely with engineering department.


  • Write user manuals for new software and hardware products.
  • Maintain existing customer documentation and modify documents as appropriate based on product updates and additions, as well as correcting issues in previous versions.
  • Work with customers, sales team, and applications engineers to write application notes that highlight how our products are used by our various customers.
  • Work with Engineering and Applications teams to develop expanded FAQ type documentation to assist our customers with implementation of their systems based on our products.
  • Assist video team with the creation of documentation in video format.


  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to government military contracts.
  • Bachelor’s degree Electrical Engineering, physical science, or technical field preferred.
  • 3+ years experience
  • Engineering, scientific, or technical background
  • Prefers local to Boston area for hybrid work model but open to remote due to urgency



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information clearly
  • Data Acquisition (DAQ), measurement of industrial control products a plus
  • Programming, Avionics or Aerospace industry experience
  • Must be comfortable working with Frame Maker, Acrobat Pro, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to convey ideas and lead cross functional project teams
  • Strong leadership ability with exceptional organizational skills to revamp existing training material
  • Keen ability to understand complex systems, data flows, and logic, and translate that into easily digestible content using visuals and other media
  • You embrace ambiguity and enjoy finding order and simplifying process
  • Stay organized and independently see projects through to completion
