UX Visual Designer- Remote

 Our client, a fast-growing start-up in the security industry is seeking an entrepreneurial-­minded, user­-centric UX and Visual Designer to redefine what a security SaaS platform can be. This talented, enthusiastic UX and Designer will innovate and drive the design of our product—everything from the user flows to user interface components. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves fast paced development and can quickly adapt to change in market.

This role will sit in our NYC headquarters and report to our Senior Director of Product.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the product’s UX and UI--from overall principals to execution
  • Work closely with product team to ensure that user needs, and product requirements are translated into workflows and compelling, technically feasible designs
  • Create documentation that effectively communicate the product design intent using various techniques--e.g. wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups, user work flows
  • Conduct frequent customer interviews/research further articulate design POV and intent
  • Actively monitor the market trends and provide key insights to the team
  • Inspire other UX designers by providing feedback and support for various projects
  • Lead design reviews and bring inspiring ideas and motivation into an energetic and collaborative team

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience as a designer including experience designing web applications
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in design, related field or equivalent work experience
  • Solid user-centric design skills--experienced in principles and practices of interaction design
  • A portfolio demonstrating the ability to develop user interfaces, prototypes, and requirements such as screen mockups and user flows
  • Ability to apply visual patterns and design details across the product and understand all the style implications
  • Experience in field studies, usability tests, customer reviews, and other user-centered research methodologies
  • Interest in cybersecurity
  • Experience partnering with highly technical cross functional teams
  • Experience working with customer facing web experiences
  • Experience with data visualizations principles and practices. Talk Tufte.
  • Experience using tools like Sketch, Balsamiq, Illustrator, and Photoshop or other design applications
  • Experience using Google Analytics and/or Full Story a plus
  • Experience with Visio, Lucidchart or other workflow tools a plus
