Senior Machine Learning Engineer

ClearPrism - Dallas, TX, United States

Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Who we are

We are a cutting-edge technology and advisory firm disrupting the strategic consulting space through our innovative, data science products and services. Our team is a highly-trained group of software developers as well as several PhD quants and seasoned SMEs in financial services, business management and strategy.

What we do

We are currently developing a multi-suite, AI and graph-powered data science platform that allow our clients to “sense” future events and assess their impact within and across industries, providing a powerful accelerator for strategic planning and alignment in a competitive market. The platform is built around and evolves through our state-of-the-art machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), simulation, optimization, and statistics capabilities.

Who we are seeking

You are a hands-on, experienced, analytics professional who can translate business questions into data problems, and then build models and machine learning pipelines to solve those data problems. You can speak Python, just like your native language. Given an analytical business use case, you can work out a solution independently, build a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) quickly, document your solution and code, and communicate your results both to technical and non-technical audiences. You have a deep understanding of the assumptions and limitations of algorithms being applied. You have built several end-to-end machine learning systems/pipelines in your prior experience. You are comfortable with reading, understanding, and changing legacy machine learning and NLP code. This is a hands-on position that requires strong Python coding skills to build, maintain, and deploy machine learning and NLP pipelines.

You are also fine with leading junior data scientists, and have a sense of humor.

Qualifications, Required Skills, and experience:

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
  • Minimum 5 years of Python programming experience
  • Solid understanding of data science concepts and principles
  • Proficiency in common machine learning libraries, including scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, scipy, Spacy, NLTK, and PyTorch
  • Prior experience with a wide range of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms, including regression, classification, clustering, anomaly detection, time series analysis, forecasting, dimensionality reduction, etc.
  • Prior experience in Predictive modeling
  • Prior experience with modern Natural Language Processing concepts and algorithms, including embeddings, transfer learning, transformers, and deep learning models for NLP
  • Solid understanding of mathematical, statistical, and probabilistic frameworks underlying machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with building and fine-tuning machine learning solutions and leveraging specific machine learning architectures (e.g. deep neural networks, RNNs, CNNs, BERT, etc).
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.
