Currently looking for an experienced Construction Estimator/Project Manager to fill an opening with a high end residential general contractor located in Long Island City, NY. Interested candidates should have 8+ years experience with at least 3 years of that experience must be on high end residential work with a general contractor or construction management firm.
Responsibilities of the Estimator/Project Manager - High End Residential Construction
- Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier information & pricing
- Prepares instructions to bidders, bid form and other bid solicitation information as required.
- Performs and/or manages the quantity survey and pricing effort for internal budgets.
- Prepares conceptual budgets, sometimes based on minimal information.
- Reviews general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, site logistics and other exhibits as prepared by Operations.
- Review and/or manages the review and scoping of specialty contractor bids.
- Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.
- Direct responsibility for assigned luxury residential projects, from preconstruction phase project development and planning to construction phase execution.
- Report directly to senior management
- Oversee budget management
- Development and management of all project documentation
- Subcontractor contract management
- Project reporting and regular communication with project staff, design team, and customer.
Requirements of the Project Manager - High End Residential Construction
- At least 4 years of project management experience on high-end residential work with a general contractor or construction management firm.
- Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple assignments.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
- Candidates must possess a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
