Rehab - Occupational Therapist (Home Health) PRN Days

Coffeyville Regional Medical Center - Coffeyville, KS

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is a professional practitioner who help patients achieve greater ability to participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic practice of everyday activities. This practice may include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations; help patients recover from injury to regain skills; and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes. Occupational Therapists perform individualized evaluations to determine patient goals, customize intervention to improve daily function and evaluates outcomes to ensure goals are being met or adjust the intervention plan appropriately.


  • Conduct physical and psychological assessments of clients and develop a treatment plan
  • Assess patient home and work/school environments to determine potential improvements are needed
  • Provide advice on adaptive equipment to help patients with daily activities
  • Follow and adjust treatment plans to help regain functional skills
  • Prepare patients for returning to work/sports/daily life
  • Confer with physicians, patients, patient families and caregivers regarding care when appropriate
  • Evaluate results and progress of plans of care
  • Maintain professional knowledge and technical progress to provide best treatments available
  • Comply with federal, state and local certification requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy

The Occupational Therapist (OT) assumes other responsibilities as assigned.


  • Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff and the public
  • Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
  • Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
  • Accurate clinical assessment skills regarding patient medical conditions
  • Ability and willingness to accurately and appropriately document patient care notes in a timely manner in accordance with billing and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and hospital staff
  • Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
  • Computer skills including MSOffice, Outlook, Meditech, preferred


  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy degree program certified by Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), required
  • Current Kansas Occupational Therapy Certification, required
  • Current BLS Certification, required
    • 1-2 years’ experience in an acute or clinical setting, preferred
  • American Occupational Therapy Certification Board certification, required
