Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, or "CRMC", is a 25-bed, non-profit, critical access hospital serving Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma since 1949. The Nursing Director is a professional nurse (RN) who manages the day-to-day operations of the CRMC nursing unit while working closely with nursing supervisory staff, unit staff, and physicians. The Nursing Director assumes responsibility for the unit while supporting the Senior Director of Nursing, ensuring the highest quality, safety, appropriate nursing care, staff competency, and appropriate resource management for clients aged from infant to geriatric.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Schedule staff appropriate for census and reconcile employee time report
  • Perform competency evaluation, performance appraisals, employee engagement, recognition, and corrective action activities, as necessary
  • Prepare and monitor unit budget
  • Assure clinical nursing skills are appropriate for the unit assigned
  • Liaison between nursing staff and the Senior Director of Nursing as needed for optimum patient care to CRMC Standards of Excellence, accreditation standards, and local/state/federal rules and regulations
    • Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions
    • Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
    • Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing
    • Provide patient care as a Registered Nurse (RN), when needed, to support staff and hospital needs
    • Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy

The Nursing Director (RN) assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff, and the public
  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to multitask
  • Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common, specific, and technical journals
  • Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Accurate clinical assessment skills regarding the patient's medical condition
  • Computer skills, including MS Office, Outlook, and Meditech, preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals
  • Ability to move, position self, consistently operate various types of equipment, able to detect/observe/identify details at close or distant range with or without accommodations, as well as exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  •  Associate Degree or Diploma in nursing, required
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure with the State of Kansas, required
  • Three years’ minimum experience in specific area for role, required
  • BLS, required
  • Must have certification (ACLS, PALS, TNCC, etc.) at the same level or higher as Staff RN for the unit assigned, required
  • Three to five years of progressive experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting, preferred
  • Two years’ management-related experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or actively enrolled in a Bachelor's program for Nursing, preferred
  • Pursues programs of continuing education consistent with requirements of the Kansas State Board of Nursing, as well as educational conferences and updates to maintain professional knowledge and skills related to the areas of responsibility
