The Senior Director of Outpatient Services is responsible for the development and growth of all aspects of outpatient services at CRMC. The Senior Director provides leadership to the outpatient departments’ clinical managers and assists with core business operations and team growth and development. The Senior Director develops strategic marketing and growth initiatives for each department and works in conjunction with the clinical manager to achieve goals.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible to the COO for leading Radiology, Laboratory, Rehabilitation, Respiratory Therapy, Surgery and Oncology.
  • Works collaboratively with each clinical manager of the department to plan and implement strategies to achieve excellence in care and patient safety.
  • Enhance the quality, access, safety, and efficiency of patient services and increase patient satisfaction with a focus on performance excellence and high reliability. Working toward a goal of hardwiring best practices and for measured results and improvements.
  • Working collaborative, with the senior management team and medical leadership of CRMC, as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization and quality goals and objectives. Analyze, and utilize information to develop and support management decisions.
  • Available daily for consultation with clinical managers to problem solve and troubleshoot department challenges.
  • Conducts an ongoing financial assessment of the services provided by your departments
  • Assesses the market and works with other to design marketing strategies to engage potential customers to our hospital. Support ease of use for patients and make decisions that allow the department to adjust for best patient access.
  • Facilitates development of key clinical performance indicators for each department and monitors outcomes. Implements changes based on quality measures, data, risk assessment and feedback.
  • Develops and maintains strategies for recruitment and retention of staff and supports staff in achievement of ongoing professional career goals.
  • Applies critical and systems thinking, role-modeling and mentoring skills to create a culture of appreciative inquiry, readiness to learn, and active participation in evidence-based practice activities.

The Senior Director of Outpatient Services assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership and complex organization management skills.
  • An understanding of how to achieve results in a healthcare environment.
  • Well-developed planning, marketing, organizational development, and business skills.
  • The ability to work with physicians, staff and professionals in multiple settings and locations and able to promote diversity in the workplace.
  • Information systems capabilities and an appreciation for the data which will be required to make meaningful management decisions.
  • Negotiation and financial analysis skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree MBA or MHA, preferred
  • 5 years progressive experience in hospital operations/outpatient environment or equivalent, preferred
