Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, or "CRMC", is a 25-bed, non-profit, critical access hospital serving Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma since 1949. The Oncology and Infusion Services Manager focuses on assuring proper care of oncology and outpatient infusion patients while coordinating and advocating for them, contingent on their individual needs. S/he will be required to review patients’ charts and meet with families and providers to establish the most suitable course of action. The Oncology and Infusion Services Manager assures appropriate utilization review and may interact with insurance companies and external sources to coordinate the best options.
JOB DUTIES:
- Meet with all patients at initial visit to explain the oncology flow
- Schedule infusions and physician appointments
- Order testing in Meditech per Oncologist and Oncology APRN request
- Assist with addressing patient’s questions and needs when oncologist is not available
- Coordinate treatment plans with surgeon, radiation therapy and medical oncology.
- Collaborate with Oncology APRN as needed for patient care plans
- Monitors patient and family satisfaction ensuring that they feel supported and educated throughout the cancer journey
- Suggest and coordinate appropriate follow-up services and resources to promote wellness
- Provide Case Management Services including consultation with insurance carriers as needed for prior authorizations and potential denial of services
- Assist patients with completing patient assistance applications as needed
- Coordinate Cancer Conferences
- Prepare data as needed for the Clinical Services Medical Staff Committee
- Enter new oncology cases into the Cancer Registry System
- Become competent in providing RN nursing coverage for chemotherapy infusion area
- Add treatment plans to Meditech as new regimens are used
- Supervises and provides leadership to Infusion and Oncology RN staff
- Communicate care plans with the outpatient infusion patients as well as coordinate their care plans including the need for prior authorization, denial management, coordination of care with physicians, etc.
The Oncology and Infusion Services Manager assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff and the public
- Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
- Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
- Accurate clinical assessment skills regarding patient medical conditions
- Computer skills including MSOffice, Outlook, Meditech, preferred
- Familiarity with EMR, particularly Meditech
- Experience in collecting and interpreting medical information as well as training staff
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Registered Nurse, required
- Degree in Nursing, bachelor’s preferred;
- Current licensure with the State of Kansas, required
- Certificate in community or hospital case management, preferred
- BLS certification, required
- 5+ years of nursing experience, preferred
