Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, or "CRMC", is a 25-bed, non-profit, critical access hospital serving Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma since 1949. The Physical Therapist (PT) is a professional practitioner who develops treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques creating personalized fitness-oriented health care programs for patients. Administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments relieves pain and improves mobility for patients recovering from accidents, trauma and surgical procedures.

JOB DUTIES

  • Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition
  • Assess and interpret patient evaluations and test results
  • Develop treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques as part of personalized fitness-oriented health care programs
  • Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility
  • Advise patients on exercise techniques and in-home treatment options
  • Provide educational information about injury prevention, ergonomics and ways to promote physical health
  • Oversee the support staff to ensure quality of care and maximum productivity
  • Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
  • Document patient care history timely and accurately
  • Comply with all rules, regulations and procedures

The Physical Therapist (PT) assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Accurate clinical assessment skills regarding patient medical conditions
  • Ability and willingness to accurately and appropriately document patient care notes in a timely manner in accordance with billing and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and hospital staff
  • Computer skills including MSOffice, Outlook, Meditech, preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, sit; reach with arms, hands and fingers to handle and feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; taste and smell as demonstrated by the Occupational Performance Capacity (OPC) test and/or pre-employment physical administered by CRMC at offer

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational institution, required
  • Completion of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited residency program, preferred
  • Pass the National Physical Therapist Examination (NPTE), required
  • Current Kansas Physical Therapy License, required
  • Current BLS Certification, required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in an acute or clinical setting, preferred
