Pay Rate: varies per project, some might be hourly, others might be flat weekly rates
*We are putting together a selective group of pre-screened individuals who are purely targeting Fractional CFO work and only want to do this work vs. going into a permanent role.
We are seeking a proven and adaptable finance leader to serve as a Fractional CFO supporting the clients of our advisory group. This is an ideal role for a seasoned executive who brings a strong mix of strategic finance, FP&A, and technical accounting expertise, and enjoys working across a portfolio of high-growth, investor-backed companies.
In this role, you will work directly with founders, CEOs, and private equity stakeholders to guide financial strategy, build scalable financial infrastructure, and ensure compliance with complex accounting standards. You’ll serve as a key advisor and operator—delivering hands-on leadership to clients during critical growth and transformation phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as interim or part-time CFO for client companies, acting as their lead financial executive
- Provide strategic finance leadership including:
- Long-range planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Cash flow management and capital strategy
- Board and investor reporting
- Guide technical accounting and financial reporting, including:
- Revenue recognition (ASC 606)
- Lease accounting (ASC 842)
- Business combinations (ASC 805)
- Stock-based compensation, complex equity and debt structures
- Multi-entity and international consolidations
- Lead audit readiness efforts and serve as point of contact for external auditors
- Advise on ERP selection and implementation (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, Sage)
- Oversee month-end close, internal controls, and GAAP financial reporting processes
- Support M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration
- Partner with internal and external finance teams to up-level processes and reporting infrastructure
Qualifications
- CPA and/or MBA required
- 12+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including time at a Big 4 or national public accounting firm
- Prior success as a CFO, VP of Finance, or senior finance leader in PE-backed, public, or high-growth companies
- Proven experience in fractional, interim, or consulting-based CFO roles
- Deep understanding of technical accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
- Track record of building FP&A processes and tools to support operational decision-making
- Excellent communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to influence senior leadership
- Industry exposure to SaaS, healthcare, manufacturing, or consumer products is a plus
