Senior Manager of Accounting

  • Manage a team of 5 accounting professionals
  • Own organizational compliance with U.S. GAAP reporting rules, and lead implementation of new accounting pronouncements
  • Manage the month, quarter, and year-end close procedures, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis of results, close calendar and close reporting package
  • Develop processes to handle more complex areas of accounting as needed to support the business, such as equity, compensation, M&A activity, etc.
  • Facilitate the Accounting team’s commitment to timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Proactively identify issues and areas for improvement within the close process and implement process improvements
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures within the accounting team and across the organization required as we look toward IPO readiness
  • Lead financial statement audits, including preparation of footnotes and review of documentation submissions in reply to auditor requests
  • Support adhoc operational/systems initiatives and research, including identifying solutions for
  • control deficiencies

  • Collaborate across departments to improve controls that impact financial reporting including
  • refining processes, policies, procedures, documentation, and information systems

  • Partner with IT to improve and maintain data integrity required for production of
  • relevant, reliable, and accurate financial reporting

  • Analyze and monitor actual and/or planned changes to the business (e.g. acquisitions), providing
  • management with insight on technical accounting considerations

  • Assist Controller and other senior finance leadership team members to advance organization's
  • strategic objectives

  • Liaise with FP&A and business partners to generate, record, reconcile, and maintain accrual balances and monthly budget versus actual analyses
  • Perform other special projects and analyses as directed by management


    What You Will Bring:

    Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field
  • CPA license (active or inactive) required
  • 5-7 years Big 4 experience required
  • 5-7 years corporate accounting experience
  • Disciplined self-starter and team player
  • Possesses passion, energy, enthusiasm to drive results; action oriented
  • Extremely detail oriented but yet possesses an understanding of the "big picture”
  • Experience managing a team and exceptional aptitude for project management and multitasking
  • Strong systems knowledge, including the ability to quickly learn new systems and is able to identify ways to automate processes
  • In depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Must have the ability to proactively and creatively approach problem solving in order to execute multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Must have excellent critical thinking and prioritization skills, as well as strong written and oral communications skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organization.
  • Analytical and creative problem solving skills; solution oriented individual
  • Startup, e-commerce, or retail experience preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Must have strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • NetSuite experience preferred
