Team: This team works on AP products and seeks a strong software engineer with JavaScript ES6 that is an avid, quick learner. The manager is most interested in the person and willing to allow them to learn some of the AWS skills as long as they have solid JavaScript ES6 and proven learner, etc.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll develop the next generation of assessments using leading technologies. You’ll work with innovative agile teams using the full stack to solve remote testing security problems.

Responsibilities of the role

    1. Collaborate on software projects with product design and technical teams
    2. Develop, test, release, and maintain back-end services, front-end applications, and infrastructure
    3. Work as a technical contributor on an Agile team

Qualifications needed for the role

    1. BA/BS required (major in an analytical field desired)
    2. A minimum of 7 years’ work related experience
    3. Advanced experience working with Node.js in an AWS environment. Intermediate experience with React, and relational databases like PostgreSQL, or noSQL (such asDynamoDB)
    4. Experienced implementing serverless applications on AWS
    5. Experience in hands-on development of software applications in a highly scaled environment
    6. Experience working on Agile engineering teams

Preferred skills and attributes for the role

    1. Ability to perform in multiple roles on a team, including testing and production support as well as development
    2. Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability
    3. Experience using libraries and frameworks where it makes sense, while still understanding how each line in your codebase works
    4. Willingness to work on QA and develop test automation scripts and participate in code reviews
    5. Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively in a cross-functional team environment
    6. Ethos of continuous improvement and interest in learning new things
    7. Strong ability to understand and internalize the big picture and broader implications
    8. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skill with the ability to work with a diverse set of colleagues, across functions, from different organizations, disciplines, etc.
    9. Self-starter, ability to set priorities, work independently and attain goals
    10. AWS Certified (Associate or higher)
