We are looking for a Java/JEE Application Support Engineer to contribute to the testing, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and maintenance of our JEE-based applications. In this role, you will interface with end-users and enterprise service desk personnel to address inquiries, resolve issues, provide application usage guidance, and develop knowledge base articles.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Providing incident management support, working with clients, development, and QA teams to troubleshoot functional and performance anomalies (50%).
  • Participating in system integration testing (SIT), functional testing, and non-functional testing activities (25%).
  • Contributing to application development and deployment processes (15%).
  • Supporting the maintenance and upgrades of infrastructure components and enterprise tooling (10%).

We require you to have:

  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE (JSP), HTML 5, XSLT, XML, and the SPRING Framework (4+ years).
  • Experience with JBOSS EAP V8 and Apache Web Server v2.4 (4+ years).
  • Familiarity with RedHat V8+ operating systems (4+ years).
  • Competence in UNIX command-line operations and shell scripting (Bash, Bourne) (4+ years).
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Ideally, you will also possess:

  • Experience with SQL for Oracle and DB2 databases.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Edge Group Policy Object (GPO) management.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow for IT service management.
  • Proficiency in log analysis using Splunk.
  • Experience with application performance monitoring tools such as AppDynamics.
  • Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible.
  • Knowledge of Web Services (e.g., REST, SOAP).
  • Familiarity with Eclipse IDE and IBM EWM (Engineering Workflow Management).
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift.
  • Exposure to AWS Cloud computing, specifically Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings.
  • Knowledge of WebSphere Application Server V8.5.5.
  • Familiarity with AI Prompting and Large Language Models (LLMs).
