Our client is seeking an experienced data analytics professional with a sound understanding of technology, complex data analysis, and financial crime related matters to work for its Technology Advisory Services practice based out of our Washington DC office.
They will be responsible for consulting services as it relates to monitorships and investigations. A successful candidate will hold a college degree and possess experience or aptitude in all aspects of technology consulting and data analysis, including but not limited to the collection and synthesis of data, spreadsheet and database creation, SQL programming, and project management. Candidates will acquire skills in designing and executing solutions to complex financial problems, as well as analyzing complex data sets from relevant financial, transactional, survey, and other data systems. This role will lead projects and be responsible for overall project management and execution including mentoring team members.
Core Responsibilities
- Utilizing forensic and data mining tools to search, recover, sort, and organize large amounts of data in all phases of a monitorship, investigation, or litigation
- Applying accounting, financial, and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines
- Organizing information to facilitate effective data access and analysis, including designing and implementing complex databases
- Maintaining detailed work-paper records of assumptions, methodologies, and information sources employed during the performance of all analytical tasks
- Preparing drafts of written analyses, presentations, reports, and exhibits for third parties on the project scope and/or results of activities
- Performing the day-to-day activities of projects including interaction with client personnel, internal members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement

Preferred Education and Experience
- Prior consulting experience is needed with background in financial crime investigations and compliance
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of four (4) to seven (7) years of experience with 2 or more of the following tools:
- SQL
- Python
- Cloud platforms for data storage, analytics, and intelligence
- Code storage and management solutions
- Quantitative background in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, MIS, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering
- Ability to define and evaluate scope of projects and manage multiple projects at once
- Ability to evaluate processes and make improvements as needed
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to fully document analysis performed
