Technical Project Manager

The Technical Project Manager manages the software development lifecycle for Products, which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, emergency patches, security improvements, and performance improvements. The Technical Project Manager works collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to manage interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence to ensure the integrity of the release can be measured. 

 The Technical Project Manager should possess the flexibility and leadership skills required to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams to manage and deliver projects within quality, time, and budget requirements. Ensure team(s) maintain focus on quality and continuous delivery.

 As a Technical Project Manager, you will:

  • Create and maintain project budgets, schedules, status reports and all required project artifacts for the lifecycle of the project
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and meet or exceed expectations
  • Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or environment updates
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes
  • Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves risks and issues using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required)
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to produce and deliver deployment documents to customers
  • Negotiate, deployment plan, and manage all release activities
  • Maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors
  • Continually work toward making improvements in the release process
  • Lead and coordinate go-live activities including the execution of deployment plans and checklists
  • Participate in change control meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
  • Work with engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Agile certifications
  • Experience in release management both on-prem and AWS
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Project Management, Business or related field
  • Knowledge of best practices and tools in an automated CI/CD framework
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT-related project management and release management
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Ability to navigate in a nimble environment and drive success
  • Strong technical and tactical problem-solving skills; Must be able to demonstrate technical competence and a proven track record of technical accomplishments in the technology field
  • Experience with cloud platforms (MS Azure/AWS, Hybrids)
  • Experience with CI/CD (Continues Integration/Continues Deployment): Git; VSTS (Visual Studio Team Services), Azure
